Cross Roads wins their tourn. against Carlisle in the championship game 3-2 in 8 innings. It was a great game start to finish. Senior Cody Quinn went 7 innings giving up 1 earned run and striking out 14. Freshman Craig Ramsey came in the 8th with 2 on and nobody out and struck out the 3 in a row. It was their 2, 3 and 4 hole hitters. Cross Roads moves to 8-1 on the year.

Cross Roads 8 LaPoynor 7 Cross Roads is 3-0 in district and 11-2 overall. LaPoynor is definetly a team to keep an eye on in the playoffs. They swing the sticks very well and have above average pitching.

Cross Roads 9 Cayuga 6
Sloppy game by both teams. Found a way to get it done. The kid Cayuga threw was pretty dang good. Cross Roads moves to 12-2 on the year and 4-0 in district.

Cross Roads 7 Slocum 0
We were not very good at the plate for the most part. Give the kid from Slocum some credit, he mixed things up really well and kept us off balance. It probably hasn't helped that half of the team has practiced a couple of days the last 2 weeks because of track and other activities. Freshman Craig Ramsey throws his first no-hitter. He did an excellent job and I only expect him to get better. Cross Roads moves to 15-2 on the year and 7-0 in district.

Cross Roads 3 Grand Saline 13 Saturday
Played bad baseball against a very solid 2A. Threw a bunch of pitchers, some that hadn't pitched in a while and they were definetly rusty. Grand Saline did a good job putting balls in play and they made all the plays in the field. They are very well coached and I look for them to make a little noise in 2A this year. I think they are 17-3 this year. It was 4-3 going into the 5th inning and just fell apart. Good wake-up call for us. We needed that worse than any win.
Came back Tuesday night and beat LaPoynor
CR 7 LaPoynor 5
Very good 1A baseball game. LaPoynor definetly brought their A game and made us earn it. One of the better games I have been involved in. There were some absolute lazers hit in the game. Both teams swung the stix very well. If LaPoynor will bring that effort to the park from here on out they are going to cause people lots of problems. LaPoynor is the best hitting team I have seen all year and we have played some good ones this year. They can absolutely swing the stix. CR moves to 17-3 on the year and 9-0 in district.

Cross Roads 3 Cayuga 2
Stunk it up at the plate. Just did not have a clue. As good as we were against LaPoynor, we were just as bad in this one. Not to take anything away from Cayuga's pitcher, he did a great job, but we didn't have a clue. He is the best we have faced all year. Fresh. Craig Ramsey had another strong outing going 6 2/3 to get the win. Clinched our second consecutive district champ.

Cross Roads 15 Trinidad 3
Finished up regular season 20-3 overall and 12-0 in district. Let a bunch of young kids play today and they did very well for their first varsity experience. Hopefully we can do something in the playoffs this year.
